Carnegie Hall Artistic Director Clive Gillinson expressed nostalgic feelings after he met with the young musical talents comprising the National Youth Orchestra of the USA.
Gillinson is proud that he and his colleagues’ dream of seeing an ensemble of young performers ready to take the global spotlight has become a reality. He recalls how, as a novice cellist, he was engulfed with emotions at sharing the stage with the adept musicians that formed Great Britain’s National Youth Orchestra. He is happy that seasoned players hailing from different parts of the country have expressed willingness to share their knowledge and guide the NYO-USA musicians.
